Nathan Schaefer, MSW, is the Vice President of Public Policy for the National Hemophilia Foundation (NHF). In this capacity, he directs federal policy and advocacy initiatives, including legislation and regulatory reform.

Schaefer also oversees the state government relations team of three staff across the country. This team helps NHF’s 53 chapters identify and carry out state and local policy priorities. Schaefer is the former Executive Director of the Empire State Pride Agenda, and Director of Public Policy at Gay Men’s Health Crisis, the nation’s oldest HIV service organization.

He received a Master’s of Social Work at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH.
